SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

So the clocks ‘sprung’ forward.  The light nights appeared.  And the sun shone! Life is brilliant and we are already 90 days in to 2008.

Regular readers will know that I’m passionate about 90 day plans. In January I challenged you to making sure you had your best 90 day ever.  So how did it go?  Well you are probably thinking one of 3 responses right now:

WOW I've had the best 90 days ever.  I took Massive Action and achieved Massive Results.

I tried – honestly Michael I really did and I’ve had a good 90 days.

Huh?  90 days already – wow I really do put things off.

So with light nights, renewed energy and a spring in your step what will make the next three months marvellous?

Here’s my 9 for 90 actions to help you kick start and stick with your amazing plans.

1) Complete your Wheel of Life.  If you haven’t ever completed this brilliant exercise then now is the time to do it.  You can download and print one here.  Complete an online version here. Watch this space, our brilliant new interactive Facebook 'Wheel Of Life' application will soon be available!

2) Have a spring clean. Throw out some junk, clear your desk (polish it), tidy your wardrobe, empty your inbox.  When you have a clear out you invite energy in.  So go for it!

3) Write your goals for the next 90 days in a smart notebook, keep it next to your bed and read it every morning and every night.  Use the 3 P’s method from How to Be Brilliant to do this to best effect.

4) Take Massive Action.  Don’t wait until you are ready – you’ll never be totally ready.  Just go for it.  Make that call, take that action, commit to change, you know how this works – by starting to create the momentum now you’ll reap the rewards in the months and years to come.

5) Go for a quick win.  Who says you have to wait for good stuff? What can you do now that will give you amazing results in the next few days? An early success will help to build momentum.

6) Take positive action. Isn’t it amazing how many people (in the Northern Hemisphere) were complaining that they’d ‘lost an hours sleep’ at the weekend.  I’d rather think that we’ve gained an hour of sunlight!

7) Share something with someone. It could be as simple a sending an eCard (we have some fantastic ones here) to a full blown blow them away magic moment.  Either way if the secret of living is giving, go for it and share a bit of you.

8) Programme time to relax (properly).  By taking time out to really relax you’ll get creative, feel rejuvenated and it’s super healthy too.

9) Plan a celebration for the 30th June.  It’s 90 days time. It’s a Monday (and nothing interesting happens on a Monday).  It will be even lighter that night and (here’s the big one) YOU will have achieved your 90 Days of Massive Action goals.

Michael has spent the last 10 years of his life working with over half a million people around the world.

This is your chance to ask Michael a question that affects you, your business, or any other area of your life.

Hi Michael,

Here’s one that drives me nuts and I’m not really sure if I can do anything about it. All my suppliers, colleagues and staff are going on and on about the ‘credit crunch’ and saying this is going to be a terrible year. Is it?

Best,

Daniel

Dear Daniel,

Simple answer yes if you want it to be.  The fact is thousands of businesses are going to talk their way in to a recession and for many it will be a wonderful excuse.  An excuse for not giving brilliant value, and excuse for not stepping up and an excuse for not putting their customers first.  Meanwhile their will be others who see this as an opportunity to clean up by offering; innovation, solutions, brilliant service and focusing on investing in their staff.  They’ll weather any storm and when the sun shines – they’ll be way ahead of the curve.

Be Brilliant,

Michael

Dear Michael,

I have read your new book Brilliant Life and I feel excited about the road ahead.  How can I can those around me to feel the same?

Yours brilliantly,

Amanda

Dear Amanda,

I get asked this question a lot.  The simple answer is don’t attempt to change them, instead, take a leaf out of the book of one of the worlds greatest ever leaders, Gandhi, who said, ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’.  It’s amazing how many people will ask you what you have done or changed then share with them how you are doing it.

Be Brilliant,

Michael
